What is this EDK installation message?

Hi!
I installed xilinx EDK 8.2i. installation was successful. but when I run this program,
popup window comes up and say " xilinx doesn't point to a ISE 8.2 "

what's this message meaning ? Does this mean that EDK can't find ISE 8.2 installation on my PC?

then should I configurate the path to ISE manually?

Please tell me how to do! thank you

libportability.dll error edk 9.1

You should install ISE v8.2i firstly. Meanwhile the latest patch.

After this, you can install EDK v8.2i. Then you can get right information.

that doesn't work!

I installed EDK after the same version of ISE.

becasue of that, I copied the missing dll file from ISE. then it worked.

however, I have confronted another problem.

sysnthesis doesn't worked in EDK.

so I tried c:xilinx\bin\nt>xps.exe, it worked again.

now I have another problem again.

it doesn't produce the SVG image of block diagram!

I don't know what I should do after struggle with this program for 4 days...

anybody help me to solve this problem!

I found the all problems' solution for my request

1. First pop-up error " xilinx doesn't point to a ISE 8.2 " was caused by missing version information in fileset file in Xilinx folder.

2. second was "Path" problem! if anyone see this error message "Missing libPortability.dll",

1.go to control panel.
2.open system icon.
3.click advanced tap.
4.click the environment variable tap.
5.Change the any Path to "%Xilinx%\bin\nt; %Xilinx%\bin\nt" and don't forget semi colon in the middle of path name.

this will make XPS works.... cheers!!!!mate...

edk 11 vista install problem

wen u r working with EDK 8.2 version u should have only ISE 8.2 in ur system....

if u have ISE8.1 or ISE7.1 it doesnt open .......this problem i faced


then u should have latest service pack of both ISE 8.2 and EDK 8.2

xilinx xps 8.2 libportability.dll

Yes I have 9.1i for both ISE and EDK and I am starting to think it has to be about Windows Vista or abuot my machine being 64 bits


There is no /bin/nt directory but /bin/nt64 and if I just copy the dlls from ISE to EDK it just keep saying missing DLL.

Perhaps EDK is trying to load 32 bits dlls while ISE is 64 bits?

Any clue?
