OK, I see your problem now. This is because you are using 4 bit interfacing instead of 8 bit interfacing. That's easy to solve. Just connect pin 7, 8, 9 & 10 of your LCD to negative ground. That should solve the problem.

Can you post me a photo of your LCD with pin 7, 8, 9, & 10 connected to 0Vdc (-)?

According to the schematic, please check the following connection against your LCD and PCB board/breadboard.

LCD Pin
01 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
02 ----------------------------------> +5Vdc
03 ----------------------------------> Contrast VR
04 ----------------------------------> Pin 6 of PIC16F877
05 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
06 ----------------------------------> Pin 7 of PIC16877
07 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
08 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
09 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
10 ----------------------------------> 0Vdc
11 ----------------------------------> Pin 2 of PIC16F877
12 ----------------------------------> Pin 3 of PIC16F877

14 ----------------------------------> Pin 5 of PIC16F877

Please upload the photo of the LCD after pin 7 to 10 is grounded. And replace this program too. Attach is the datasheet for your LCD. Please study carefully to initialize.

Friend seti75 I have 3 PCB's the original of the magazine EPE 2002e another of a friend from Peru/Lima, and the one that you sent to this forum.

I already have two executed circuits but I didn't get to have success.

I thank that when you have new PCB and circuit executed in the proteus sends me please.

ok, I suggest the PCB in the forum, which I completed the circuit.
I board made several changes to the alarm.

changes --->

1 sensor can activate 2 zones
2 zones in Entry (delay)
time "death", after and during alarm ---> zones 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.
... example,
an intruder , it activates a zone, alarm, he ran away ... if it passes through areas under surveillance, it will activate other areas , is not very clever!

Change will be a zone in alarm, stop all monitoring for 20 minutes
20 minutes after the alarm returns to monitoring (choice of time RC)
 

BURGLAR ALARM

You can use 555 timer IC to trigger the bell output using the RC concept. The system Bell-On-Time will use to disable the system. Don't that much more easier?

I think let's not waste anymore time if you are in the hurry for completing this project. Just get another brand of LCD. Example, Powertip LCD. Previously, I was like you too. Truobleshooting the LCD initializing for month. But finally, Igive up that LCD. And purchase another make of LCD. And it works with this program.

I board completed the modification of this alarm
I board add a delay between two alarms, if an area is put into alarm and the intruder ran away with another road or it there's also an area under surveillance it will also triggered this area
with this change, the alarm will still standby, 10 minutes
after an alarm, other changes, a sensor area, the alarm is tripped 2 times!.
(This was originally an alarm sensor triggers the alarm and is finished for this sensor! ... it does not appeal to me!)

Friend Seti75 very good service, but for this image it is difficult to execute, without he/she has more details, if possible I thank a lot that allowed me completely that is able to execute this alarm. There is a long time that I am trying fazê-store tried for the Revista APE, but I didn't get to render.
