Re: Schematics for ICD2

to ninjia:
first, did u read the rules and regulation? did u do the searching?
2nd, the main reason to replace CY7C64603 with 4550 is because CY7C64603 is no longer being produce. MICROCHIP is substituting it with 4550 where it is programmed to work exactly like the cypress chip. and wats even better is that MICROCHIP is producing the cheap themselves. save production cost and utilizesown product.
3rd, all needs hex or firmware. CY7C64603 uses some firmware which is stored in an external EEPROM. else MPLAB would not recognize what it is and there wouldn't be any communication.
hope that can clear u on ur doubts :) feel free to ask.

to samir mistry:
search first k? tusb3410 actually converts data from usb to rs232. what differs here is actually the overall speed. it is not much different more than using a serial port. just a converter in the middle. 877a still have to wait to collect the 8 bits form the serial converter. as for the cypress o 4550, it converts the data straight to parallel so 877a can process the data directly. all bit reaches at the same time without having to convert it from serial to parallel again. u kno the the math :)

ps: SORRY if sounded to harsh everyone. (TO ninjia AND samir mistry as well.)

Schematics for ICD2

sorry for stupid question. Do we really need the 74hctxxx? Can the clone work fine without them?

thank you.

Re: Schematics for ICD2

Hi Everyone

Have anyone tried to build the ICD2 using any USB enabled pic microcontroller?

Have you read the topic list under microcontrollers?

Re: Schematics for ICD2

can be BS250 d-MOS changed by other transistor, like a BC337 p.e.?

Thank you..

Re: Schematics for ICD2

Hi blueroom
A little bit off-topic, but how do you do these beautiful board 3D drawings?
Is it very hard, or automatic?

The drawings are created with Sketchup 3D and my own libraries.
Hum, I downloaded and tried Sketchup for a few minutes. Not so easy, me thinks.
I would say you are a true Sketchup pro by now!
The drawings look better then the picture of the real thing :D
