Bowtie antenna
The bowtie slot antenna exhibits a wider bandwidth compare to the metal bowtie antenna...anyone knows the reason why is it such?...tanx in advance
I am currently designing a bowtie antenna tat has been uploaded for ur view...i am using FR 4 substrate because of its low cost...and copper as the coating...does changing the substrate like silicon and changing the coating as quartz which is more expensive widens the bandwidth of this antenna...

Oh yeah when u mention bout the coating...this antenna is coated wif copper...if i coat it with a more expensive material as quartz does that also have the chance of increasing the bandwidth of the antenna?

I am currently designing a bowtie antenna using ansoft hfss for my final year project. Can anyone help me to explain why does most of the antenna has an input impedance of 50ohm. Is 50ohm consider as an effective impedance matching?If yes why?
