mos iv curve

Hi,

Does anyone know how this curve come from?

This is Vcc vs GND IV curve using curve tracer. The device is only power up through the Vcc pin. [/img]

It seems to assume a quadratic behaviour, so probably that is the ID vs. VGS curve, i.e. the drain current versus gate voltage curve

A diode connection MOS. Id vs Vgs and Vgs=Vds

cmos curve

Hi jecyhale, can you explain further on the diode connection MOS? The MOS can cause a sudden constant current flow through the device like the graph show above?

iv curve of cmos

when you connect gate and drain of mosfet it behave as diode, untill Vt it is of then began to turn on

mos i-v curve

From your explanation, this diode curve occurs because the Drain is shorted to Gate?

Do you mind explain in more detail what is the purpose of this circuit (Gate short to Drain)?
