I need to carry about 25A current from the psu pcb to another pcb. Distance will be about 6 inches. Max voltage will be about 30v. Any suggestions. Its better if the size is not too big. I would prefer to have a m/f connectors with wires rather than the wires being screwed straight into a terminal.
How about the Molex-type connectors that are used for computer power supplies? Or, look at Faston-type connectors.
Whatever you do, it would be a good idea to keep the pair or triplet of wires tightly twisted together, so there is no enclosed loop area between them.
The molex connectors are rated for 12v only. I need to handle upto 30v. Not sure which faston connectors you are referring to, there are quite a few different types of them google throws up.
Dont' know which you mean, but "5.08mm Pitch Disk Drive Power Connectors" are e.g. rated for 250 VAC/6.5A
The "Mini-Fit Jr" connectors used with ATX power supplies have 600V/6-9A rating (depending on the number of circuits)
So problem with this kind of connectors is current, not voltage rating.
Industry standard FastOn connectors (6.3 mm tabs) have 24A rating with AWG 10 wire.
