signal and variable.......

Hi,

what is the difference between signal and variable?
 

signal is just like the wire to transfer value and variable is just like the register to store the value.
 

variable value change immediate once the assignment take place.

signal value change depend on time. For example, if you put the signal within a negedge clk process, then the signal value change after the negedge clk
