Hello,

I'd like to implement a generic (plattform independent) PID controller on an FPGA.

My dilema:
Should I go for a pure VHDL/Verilog RTL solution or integrate a small soft processor (8051 perhaps) and write the controller in C ?

A PID controller can be easily implemented in generic HDL.

FvM,

Do you know of a good VHDL implementation (with an explanation) available online ?
If so, please point me to it.
