Need advices for buying an FPGA evaluation kit

Hi guys,

I want to buy an FPGA evaluation kit for studying. I have a little of money, so which kit I should buy ?

first... wad money u hav :)

if it is USD... then it should b quite enough..

i would recommend Altera development board... if u are new to it.. i suggest u try the university program (UP2) which is only $99... u can get it in www.altera.com

if u want a better one, i would suggest the embedded processor FPGA dev. board.. but it is more expensive... go and hav a look in their website...

university student/instructor hav discount price which is very worth it...

there is other vendor like xilinx... it is just as good... just tht i dont try it before...

money doesn't exceed 500$ for both of HW and SW - it's ok ?

I prefere Xilinx.

i would recommend you the Xilinx Spartan 3E Starter Kit ($149).

it comes with an evaluation version of Xilinx ISE and the Xilinx EDK. after the evaluation period expires you can continue to work with the Xilinx ISE webpack or you can buy the Xilinx ISE. buying the Xilinx EDK depends on you. if you want the added IP, microblaze, c compiler etc then you should buy that as well.

u can buy evaluation kit based on CYCLONE(altera) or SPARTAN3(xilinx).they are cheap.

For easy use and learn. Select Spartan3E start kit.
xilinx can prvide much more reference design for U.
