[SOLVED] most simple 101 - Why won't the capacitor discharge?

Why won't the capacitor discharge when the circuit is open? Is the simulator wrong? I thought the charge would flow directly to ground! In an RC circuit with one resistor, it doesn't matter if the resistor comes AFTER or BEFORE the capacitor does it?

I see the problem, connection error... doh

Its because when you open the switch the other side of the capacitor does not provide a current path.
