In audio D amplifier, if they are in single-ended mode and they use a single-supply we need to use a DC-blocking capacitor. Otherwise we don't. Why is that?
 
To be able to generate positive and negative swing the PWM centers around 50% duty cycle, so you have some non zero DC voltage. This needs to be filtered with a capacitor.

In a dual supply the 50% duty cycle will Center around 0V and therefor no need for a capacitor.
 
An alternative is to attach a DC voltage to the 'loose' end of the load. Adjust amplitude so AC is balanced back-and-forth through the load.
