Question about capacitor usage in application circuit

I am curious about the role of the circled capacitor in the application circuit. It says offset voltage, but what exactly does it do in this circuit?

I think the values should be positive, but they seem to be negative, so I'm asking.

It’s not terribly clear in the data sheet, but it’s a bootstrap capacitor. i think you need to refer to the other documents referenced in the data sheet for further information.
