Hi,

I am designing a single rectangular patch antenna . the substrate is Fr4 and its dielectric constant is 4.4. I have used Inset feed for the antenna.
The frequency is 2.4Ghz. I obtained the following results.

My resonant frequency(Rf) is 2.399Ghz
return loss @ Rf is 40 db
There are many ways to choose the Bandwidth . I have chosen the range of frequencies whose return loss is greater than 15db.
The bandwidth which i got is only 30Mhz. It is a very narrow bandwidth.

I want bandwidth to be atleast 100Mhz . Can u suggest me some method to improve it????

Thanks

Shopi

In the realm of antennas, a 10 dB return loss is doing pretty good (10 dB RL = 1% power reflection). If you assume a 10 dB return loss, does that allow your design to meet your 100 MHz target?

Hi,

For a 10 db return loss i am getting a bandwidth around 50 Mhz. Is there any way to improve it
