Hello, Is LVDS an amplifier?

As far I understood it is not an amplifier, the transistors, where input is given, are working as switches. So these switching transistors are not going to be in saturation and I need to size them such that they can handle 3.5 mA even if they are operating in triode region. In Razavi book it says "the two resistors between the outputs need to be sized higher than the output impedance of the op amp to avoid lowering the open loop gain", does this condition still hold for LVDS CMFB as well?. or can I choose any value for these two resistors.

The drivers are just switched current sources
(or resistors, I have seen as well) and you just
need to get the right current source / sink.

I have seen LVDS driver designs which used
a source follower high side pair with "good
enough" common mode control and current
sink low sides.

The CMFB amp may not even have to be an
amplifier if you have a topology that handles
common mode position "open loop".
