how to fix setup and hold violations using pt and without affection eachother means setup should not affect the hold and hold fixing should not affect seup

PT ,Primetime is Analysis tool(Timing Signoff) not optimized tool. DC/Any synthesis tools are used for fixing the timing violations.

Using PT , we can generate the changes for netlist to minimze the timing violations (like upsize/down size the buffer /insert buffer) and the same script should be used in DC to implement the changes.

yea ture as said above.... PT is for checking violation efficiently but it will nt give any clue for clearing violation n it will nt carry out optimization on nestlist

I have one more thing in this to add , just check which paths r violating and try upsizing and downsizing , and see the timing reports whether they has been fixed or not , if yes then u can probably replace that buffer in the netlist .

By using, pt reports we can identify the setup and hold violations. You need to use a P&R tool to fix the setup and hold violations. It is not always possible to fix hold violations without affecting the setup violations.
