Re: How to add library in Pr0te1 DXp

Do you mean add an existing library to the list of active libraries, or are you trying to create a new library?

To install a library in your project, click on the "Libraries" tab to display the libraries panel. Press the search button in the libraries panel, this will open the search libraries dialog. Set scope to "Libraries on Path" and make sure that the path is correct for the library you want. Click on the folder icon to browse to the library folder. Click on the library name to select it. Finally, click on the install button. You can now close the search panel and go back to your project.

This is all explained in the DXP manual which can be downloaded at:

(substitute t for * four places in the above)

This is a popular are of confusion in DXP.

There are source libraries, and integrated libraries

Source libraries can be edit and modified.
Source libraries only have single types in it, like symbols, pcb footprint, sim models etc.

Once you have library you do not want to change or library you want to protect, you can compile the source libraries of different types, into one single integrated library.

You cannot add or modify an integrated library, but you can decompile a integrated library back to source libraries
