Hello to all,
I have working on ADS 2004 for quite some time now.. I have simluated 802.11 related PLL...
I now want to simulate a 802.11b system consisting of a WLAN signal source, a Channel model and a 802.11 receiver/antenna (I will then have a elaborate ckt. after the antenna )at the receiving end... I faced problems on the following things_
1. There are not many antenna designs available in ADS 2004A .. (or I didn't find them). 802.11 receiver is available- but I do need a antenna. Secondly, the available antennas don't seem suitable for my purpose... Any suggestions on your side.. ( I already went through with the manual)
2. The secoond and more pressing problem is that I don't know how distance will come into picture when I model this transmit-receive suystem... I didn't find any distance parameter in the WLAN Channel model...
I would be glad if any one of you could help me out with this...
Thanking you in advance,
Warm regards..
Shantanu...

But your antenna model doesn't really matter. In this simulation, the only thing that the antenna does is convert from electromagnetic radiation to a received voltage, a simple gain should take care of that. I haven't looked at the channel models, but it seems that there should be a distance parameter there, to account for path loss over differring distances.

the channel model you used may be awgn or multipath model, in your situation you need a path loss model, am I clear?
