Help install Synopsys tools

I'm a technical engineer of University in VietNam. We are going to receive Synopsys tools (Digital, maybe Design Compiler), and they ask me show them Host ID. But I don't know what is configuration of PC, OS. Can I use Fedora Core 5 (Red Hat Linux)?

pls use the command "ifconfig" tp find the HOSTID of ur Machine in LINUX

In Windows use "ipconfig -all" to view the HostID.
 

Little clarification..
Suppose ur hostid = 001122334455
for Linux
ifconfig will give hostid as Hwaddr 00:11:22:33:44:55
for Windows
ipconfig will give hostid as Physical Address : 00-11-22-33-44-55
