Help About Rotary Encoder in Positioning (Programming)

Two rotary encoder is using by two side to calculate the position/distance that the machine has performed. And using assembly language as my primary choice. Is there any example or reference ? Thanks for the reply @@

Also you should to specify a processor (MCU)'s family.
 

sorry for nt mentioning the mcu ... I m using pic 16f877A..
