Hello,

I have an Yaesu FT-3000M installed on my FIAT PALIO 2010 . The problem is that when I turn on car's flasher with the radio in TX the flasher flashes very fast, simply back to RX for flasher back up and running normally. I have checked the cable , connectors and antenna are all OK. Also connected radio's power cable direct to the battery according to the instructions in the user manual. Can anyone give me a hint on how to solve this issue?

Regards,

Fernando - PU2PLL

It sounds like the flasher is picking up the RF. This could be down the leads to it or directly via its case. Its not an easy job but I think you need to decouple each wire via a 10nF disc capacitor to the car chassis, by very short leads. If this fails loading the lead in question with a ferrite bead will help, but you really need some sort of bead the can be snapped over the existing wires, else its a load of work which might not work anyway.

Where did you get your power and ground? Where are you wires run through the car?
