Hi,

I want to design a frequency to voltage converter. Input frequency if from a motor 1rpm to 1800rpm. Required output voltage is 1-10V. I have looked for the LM2907/LM2917 do they work?
a
Any help would be appreciated. Does a micro controller based solution is good for this purpose?

Hi,

Might have misunderstood you. but have a look at this picture below. the output voltage will depend on your resistors.

There are few other circuit available

The method known as a charge bucket may suit your purpose.

Each time there's an incoming pulse, it adds a certain amount of charge to a capacitor.

Try a Google search for IMAGES of 'tachometer circuit', and you'll get many schematics.

Such as:

'Wireless Auto Tachometer' (omit the antenna and input your signal at that point)
