In an old robotics project we used a Texas Instruments TPIC0107B "PWM Control Intelligent H-Bridge" to drive the motors. Unfortunately this part is no longer available. I am doing an update to this project to fix all the bugs and things wrong we had in it and need as close of a replacement as possible. I have a Microchip PIC18F4550 talking to a National Semiconductor LM629 (A PID Motor Controller with Quad Enc Feedback). The LM629 is what drives the H-Bridge and it outputs PWM and Direction signals. I really want to limit how many new parts I have to add. Any help is greatly appreciated.
