Hi All,

What are the difference between Cent OS and LINUX operating systems. And which one is better??

CentOS is a free operating system distribution based upon the Linux kernel. It is derived entirely from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distribution.

Linux operating systems (plz. don't use all caps!) are a large -and varied- group of operating systems that use the Linux kernel. CentOS is one of those many flavors. See DistroWatch for more.

From what I know it's basically a free version (as in: no paid support) of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, that is: built using the same sources, with mostly the same patches applied (but without the Red Hat branding). Which would make CentOS a good choice for running software that says it requires RHEL.

And which one is better??
There is no such thing as "better" in general. Only things that suit your needs (and other things that don't :p ).
