[SOLVED] Design Compiler Error: Cannot open cell xxxxx.FRAM for read. (MW-004)

Hello,

I would highly appreciate your help regarding physical library link with the logical standard library.

Although it seems fine for me, but maybe I am missing some concept.

I am running through Synopsys Design Compiler flow.

I downloaded the saed90nm educational library from Synopsys However I am facing problems while trying to create and check the milkyway reference library

This is the setup file that I am created:

Yes this is one of the two reference libraries folders provided by the downloaded Educational Saed90nm from Synopsys found in the following sub-directory: SAED90nm/SAED90_EDK/SAED_EDK90nm/Digital_Standard_cell_Library/process/astro

It contains two possible mw reference libraries: astro/fram/saed90nm_fr and the other one is astro/gds-as/saed90nm_dv. I tried both and both gave the same response.

Any other suggestions?

Briefly: my problem actually is very basic. It is in the very initial steps of setting up the libraries for either IC-compiler shell or DC-compiler topographical mode.

In other words: I start by setting the initial logical and physical libraries and then before doing any further step, I just perform check_library and it does not work!
It gives the MW-004 error which says that the FRAM cells cannot be open for read as you can see in the screenshot.

When I checked this error in the IC compiler error manual, they said it is due to one of the following reasons:

(1) number of opened files exceeds the user limit (I checked that and it is not the case)
(2) the specified cell is locked or read-only and you tried to write to it (I checked the properties of the cells files and they are not read only, I am not sure if I should check something else)
(3) you do not have permission to access the cell or the library where it resides (The files are in my home folder so it should not be a problem)
(4) the path (e.g. in stream out, a reference library path) or the cell name is incorrect (I am sure the path is correct, the cell names inside the mw_reference_library are all appended with _1 e.g. AND2X1_1, NOR2X1_1, ... while the error states for e.g.: AND2X1.FRAM cannot be open for read. So I tried to remove the _1 but it seems it is not the problem.)

I hope someone can help over here as it has been a couple of days working on this basic problem!

Again these are the steps I am going through which generate the errors shown in the attached screenshots!

The library under "astro" directory may be out of date for a DCT/DCG milkyway format. I recommend that you generate a new one using Synopsys Tech TF & Cadence LEF. Simply execute "Milkyway" in shell ---> "Create Library" --> "LEF IN"

In the shell write: $Milkyway -galaxy -tcl
Then in the Milkyway shell:
