arm7tdmi test chip

Hi,all
I want to develop an SOC based ARM7DIMI, so I want to use an ARM7TDMI TEST CHIP for our prototyping board design, but I can't find the ARM7TDMI TEST CHIP which supply AHB Bus interface.
pls tell me how to get the chip, thanks in advance.
 

Hi,

I don't think you will be able to find any ARM7TDMI chip which will give you the AHB interface out. The chips available in the market will give you ARM7TDMI controller with address bus, data bus, chipselects, PIOs etc but not AHB bus.

What i would suggest is that if you have already got the ARM7TDMI RTL from ARM for your SOC design, you can put it on FPGA and play around with it.

Can I get arm7tdmi RTL if I license arm7tdmi.
And is the rtl code synthesisable?or it is only for simulation.

Hi,

You can get the ARM processor code (RTL) from ARM under license agreement.
And the RTL given by them is completely synthesizable. We have ARM1176 working on FPGA.

We have ARM7tdmi RTL code, and already implement it on an FPGA, but the speed is limited by FPGA, so we want to use a ARM7tdmi testchip instead, thanks
 

Yes, Speed is the major concern when we put ARM on FPGA. We have put ARM1176 on Virtex4. It doesn't go beyond 50Mhz.

I wish you get ARM7tdmi chip with AHB interface.

There is one Altera FPGA have ARM922 core, could this helpful to you ?

I know that one, Altera Excalibur Device, but what Ineed is ARM7, Thank you all the same
