Working with PADS Logic & Layout Simultaneously

Hello,



I have used other CAD programs previously but new to PADS family. In an Altium project, a net or a component is selected in schematic window and it is highlighted in the layout window and vice versa. This makes debugging and reviewing a design easy.

Can someone please explain how this can be done in PADS VX2.7?

Did you check all available "cross probing" options at the Setup/Settings menu ?

Hi andre_teprom,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did not find the setting but there is a way to link the sch and pcb detailed below.

1. Open the Schematic. I am using PADS Logic
2. Tools > PADS Layout... (Ctrl+Shift+O).
3. Click Open... in the new popup window.
4. Select the .pcb file that is associated with the schematic.
5. PADS Layout windows opens.

At this point, one can close the popup titled "PADS Layout Link" (don't click Disconnect).
