could not set up softload in cadence
in SETUP.SH, there are 3 "tar -xf" commands.
edit the last two to read "tar -Pxf". Note its a capital P. run ./SETUP.SH
negative feedback can lower noise sensitivity in an indirect way. With feedback, you can tradeoff other cirucit performance parameters while keeping noise low.
For example you can increase the speed of a transimpedance amplifier without increasing its noise output with negative feedback.
The Ron of of M1~M4 is large in this case. The impedance looking into M3, M4 source is no longer 1/gm because of the large drain resistance. Therefore the smallest resistance (that determines the node's impedance) at the output nodes is RT-T =100 Ohms. SInce the architecture is fully...
why fm requires large bandwidth than am
FM can transmit information for longer distances than AM while retaining the information power. After a certain range, FM power drops suddenly to zero, so it is a good use for a local area.
Re: current source
Add a small inductance in series with the current source. The bias stays ok, but as frequency increases, the effect of the current noise source reduces
The extra transistors look like they are added to redce the input capacitance of the input driver transistors.
An iput signal should be seeing approximately Cgs/2 instead of Cgs. Of course the input transistor is now source degenerated and gm of the circuit is now half that of the input...
yes it is. The preamp should primarily be able to amplify the very weak signal of the transducer without introducing too much noise. Some preamps also include frequency equalization as in audio preamps like you mentioned.
Re: Noise Analysis
I think this is correct? For higher frequencies, the flicker noise is negligible and the noise of the transistor is dominated by thermal noise. So for most circuits, the pmos noise IS lower
gilbert cell frequency range design
The gilbert cell is primarily used as a low distortion multiplier. IF you can find the original 'multi-tanh' principle article by Barrie Gilbert. A chapter is devoted to this in
Analogue IC Design: The Current-Mode Approach by Toumazou
Re: I want to ask a question
perhaps you mean channel modulation effect? If you are designing an RF transceiver, this modulation effect will introduce distortion into your signal, which will appear as harmonics in the freqency domain.
This can be troublesome if not filtered, especially at t he...

I use bsim 3v3 too. You are right: The PCLM value does not correspond directly to lambda. If you have time, you can get bsim parameter definitions off **broken link removed**
The equation using PCLM is far too complex for first order hand calculations, which is probably what you...
