Hi There,
in order to increase antenna gain, meta-material lens is getting popular these days.
I wonder, if we consider size and possible gain of the antenna (limited to size -see the formula in attachment)
- then for a fix size is it possible to increase antenna gain using meta-material lens...
Hi,
I have been working on antenna array design and found the antenna array gain is lower than the antenna gain without feeding network. the phase difference and amplitude cause the beam tilt and gain reduction. As the parallel feeding network is design in very small space, the impedance of...
Hi,
check the port impedance of waveguide port and port impedance of port attached to SMA connector. they must be different thats why there is difference in result.
Thank you for your response.
I will try the approach to find out antenna input impedance when array is fed and change the feeding network.
Thank you your suggestion.

Thanks .
feeding network affecting array pattern could be possible with my feeding network ... I am going to try with...
Thank you for the response.
As you said once the feed network is designed not much can be done there. I got 2 array antenna, one is single patch and another is stack patch. The feeding network seems to work well for single patch antenna but make the radiation pattern of stack patch antenna...
Hi all,
I am working to optimise antenna array of 12x8 element.
I came across a strange situation. My antenna array without Feeding network shows good broadside direction pattern.
however, with addition of feeding network the radiation pattern shows high sidelobe and pattern shape distort a...
Hi everyone,
I am facing a strange issue with CST simulation.
simulation get stuck at some steps, like CAD modeling, and do not proceed further.
I am not sure is it because of my model or anything else.
I am making a patch antenna with air dielectric so there are small air gap between patch...
Hi,
I am trying to make a meta cell in CST. In order to check its characteristics I used characteristics from S parameter in post processing.
Floquet boundary has 2 modes, TE00 and TM00, for my structure. The characteristics parameter from different modes are coming different. for example...
For designing wideband vivaldi antenna a thin substrate is more preferable,
A 5 mil sound like very thin material... is there anyone who work on 5 mil substrate, please share your experiance.
Can we make a microstrip antenna over a 5mil or 10 mil substrate,
will it be strong enought to...
then I can suggest to focus on transition part first without tapered ridge part.
optimize with pin position, thickness, ridge gap and cavity dimension...
check page 227 of...
Please post more pics of your design .. from different angles... to have better insight into the design.
from the pic posted it appears that the probe is connected to upper ridge as well.. is it so? if its so then it should not be like that.
also its difficult to figure out what is the cone...
Thanks vfone
as per maximum coupling is concern I feel the probe should be at center. bcoz for TE01 mode the fields are maximum at center region.
that λ/4 criteria also in a way suggest to keep the probe at center from side walls.
Thats why I am confuse why this commercial product probe is...
there is a transition for signal from waveguide to coaxial once coaxial is added to waveguide. so a proper transition is required to design to get a good match. Have a look at this link for transition design - https://www.microwaves101.com/encyclopedias/waveguide-to-coax-transitions
Such...
I am confuse with the design of this commercial product (product no - AN-3456-10), this is a Ku-band LNB .
it has rectangular waveguide for connecting antenna and that waveguide is connected to active component. transition from rectangular waveguide to microstrip line is through a probe which...
