use of perl in HDL language?

i believe its not useful in HDL, but rather useful for file handling in huge projects. usually used for patching up SDF files among other things. its available in doulos website.

I agree - it is used for heavy searching functions or version control etc. -

Perl is also use for testbench and report generation
