I am simulating an symmetrical SIW cavity-backed slot antenna by HFSS and an odd thing has occurred:
the electric field properties of the structure are not symmetric!

the antenna is geometrically symmetric in transverse planes. I have checked the structure (feed line, feed transition, the port, the distance between vaias, point by point measuring of the slot ,all of the relative coordinate systems, everything) and im 200% sure that the structure is symetrical. the maximum delta s is 0.031 and i guess its quit enough. i wanted to know if there is any possibility for a Symmetrical structure to show asymmetrical properties namely patterns, field distributions, surface currents etc.
