yagi cst

To desigh the patch antenna You can use 2.5D simulator (MWO, Sonnet), or CST-MWS if Your structure has many layers. To Yagi-Uda ... usually the formulas from Balanis book gives the good result, but if You want to simulate it, try to use SuperNEC or CST-MWS.

Since MWO or Sonnet uses a close box for simulation (In sonnet only one wall canbe removed to obtain radiation pattern) they should not be used to simulate a patch antenn. Do it with free of cost using ensemble student version. Otherwise IE3D is a good and $ wasteing option.

Also for a Yagi CST should not be tryed. It will take very long time to optimize a yagi(Actually Uda was the inventor, poor man). SuperNEC is a good choice but many other NECs are available for free of cost.

:!:  :?:
