Why womans voice is used for announcing in airports?

Why it's used women's sound for announcing in ports (airport)

Some people prefer to listen to a female voice.
Sometimes the people paying for the sound system specify the gender of voice they want to be used.
When a person who makes announcements is replaced with an automated system, sometimes the original announcer is recorded.

i think because MOST (not some) ppl are pleased & relaxed listening to a femaley voice...

But operators can change the electronic voice type depending on their software & equalizers & dB levels & all speech processing stuff,,,
