the best compiler for PIC i think is Hitech and after IAR.

IAR compiler has many bugs but it is most expensive...

there is no "the best" ...

it depend on many things... cost, familiarities, etc...

and this topic has been discuss soooooooooooo many times... y not just do a search b4 posting?

Pic30_tools is the coolest compiler for dsPic and Pic 24 series. It is a port of the GCC compiler. The dsPics and 24 series have a 16 bit core, and with the GCC compiler are hard to beat. It's like stepping up a level!

I think CCS easy to use and Example if you begin to start learn PIC

CCS is very esy to use but you will have a lot of problems if you do diffucult things.

I concur with ElecThai. CCS is a capable compiler, it's easy to learn too and debugging is very easy with CCS in-circuit debugger/programmer.

MikroC is a new compiler in the blocks.
Great support forum, good online books, Great evaluation boards.

If you want to enjoy PIC, mE is the way.
