Hi all!!!

Can anyone point out how to decide in selecting a device foer ur application

What are the factors involved

Plz give some examples as these devices are being used for particular applications

Any reference material in this regard

Assume you have a design with a lot of 74XXX series ICs, then you want board smaller an easy to debug, you can put all your 74XXX ICs in CPLD

Then you decided opps I can add some more futures and running out of resources you change you CPLD to small FPGA

and etc..

HI guys PLZ more on this TOPIC

As Much as u know

Re: Where to Use FPGA , where CPLD or DSP : Selection Factor

Mostly FPGAs are used for algorithm implementation.....

Re: Where to Use FPGA , where CPLD or DSP : Selection Factor

As broad difference I can say that
all logic devices(like FPGA and CPLD) porvide better flexibility and allow user to introduce more logic or complexity wtih in the saame device. These is not possible with a DSP.
For more clarrification DSP is something u are standing on a small platform with less attribites or acessories and by a PLD you are creating your own platform looking at your application.
