What's the difference between a printed antenna and a mircrostrip antenna?

hello.I am confused about the difference between printed antenna and mircrostrip antenna.please tell me how to distinguish them.thank you.

Printed circuit is a technology to make (also) stripline and microstrip. Microstrip is a type of waveguide. Antennas are of many types, also in microstrip, and mass-produced by printed-circuit technology for low cost.

The name "printed antenna" places an emphasis on the fabrication technology of the antenna. It is a term without a stringent definition. It can be used upon any antenna which is implemented on planar substrates.

On the contrary, microstrip antenna is a classical antenna type and it owns a series of theories for its operation mechanism.

Though there are difference between these two terms, they are often used interchangeably nowadays.

same.. printed like PCB, which means it has a very small height (thickness) in "micros" and micro is the very term of microstrip antenna.. in books some use printed and others use microstrip and when you see the contents, they tell you they could be the same..now, many researchers use the term planar instead to present the flatness of their antennas
