Hi

What exactly does it mean to refer to "channels" in relation to comparators?
Im thinking it means the number of comparators on the IC, but why not just say this?
prob a really stupid question, but Google was no help to me.

Thanks

EDIT: just thought of another quick Q to check, does total speed of a comparator = prop delay + rise time?

Means comparator device, number of individual comparators/IC. Since the term comparator refers more to the IC itself its clearer(or fancier) to say 2 channel comparator.

Hi LaszloF, thanks for the quick reply. Am I right on the second question? (the EDIT) Thanks

The datasheet gives you the propagation delay, rise/fall times (slopes V/sec), the total delay is the prop.delay + rise (or fall time), usually the prop.delay is the significant.
