hi everyone. What is the most frequently used ir coding format (RC5, SIRC...) ?
and can we add a few different ir coding formats in one remote control device which we create by using microcontroller such as 16f877

RC5 is is very easy to use. if battery life is not a concerning problem for you, use RC5.

yes u can.....
I have seen many commercial remote handsets which use different remote protocols for different buttons...

Tell me why the hell u need many protocols on one device....

of course you can make your own protocol just like many different manufacturers do
