I know that the Eber Moll Model describes the necessary equations for the transistor both in the forward and the reverse active mode. But I would like to know the exact use of it. Is it used for any other purpose?

Thanks a lot

well its not use in any practical calculation ...u have quite correctly understood the use.i.e. in proving equations

Its primary use is in analog circuit simulators such as those using Spice as the simulation engine.

Its use these days is merely instructive; anything below 0.5um
has gone to something more sophisticated (not to say better,
that comes down to cases). But you can't teach somebody
about device principles using an empirical model like BSIM.
