common emitter gain

hi there...

i have one question what is the best Resistance for collector, Rc for common emitter with a gain of 40 if the Vcc=60V, Ic=5mA, Vce=10V... what is the best resistance to have output keep on 30 to 40V peak-peak

Common emitter gain?

The simple equation: gain=gm*Rc

For output consideration, keep Rc*Ic=1/2Vcc
