hi friend,
there are two types uncertainities wrt to clock.
one is spatial abnormaility Eg.clock skew
next is temporal abnormaity.

Jitter finds its place in the latter. It occurs:
Due to:Oscillators mechanical vibrations can introduce this.. many more causes too exist .. both electronic and mechanical.. most important due to temp variations and voltag variations across the circuit

its the subtle variations in the duty cycle of the clock. but period is not affected much..
May trigger flops hysterically..

So my advice is to protect ur circuits these.
