What does a peak detector mean?

peak detector

A circuit which can determine the peak (zero slope) of a parameter (e.g. voltage or current). suppose in a circuit, current is randomly fluctuating. Then the current peak detector will tell you when the current peak is reached.

A peak detector determines the peak voltage on an ac wave and converts it into a dc voltage
