What are the hot keys in Cadence?

Hi all...I'm such a newbie in using cadance Analog & Mixed Signal Environment.

I'm now try to redraw my project (netlist) in my cadence libarary using schematic entry.

So I'm glad to know any "hot key" that will make the work simpler.

Example : Esc - finish adding instances.

f:full the whole schematic,
p:add pin;
l:add label;
i:add a instance;
shift + n:add a note;
n:note line

from the icfb window:
options menu then press on bindkey tab.
From the "Application Type Prefix" scroll menu choose "Schematics"

It will show u a list with descriptive command names

well i donno for which tool you are looking for.

You need to find the bindkey definitions

usually the path is

<installed dir>/tools/dfII/samples/local/schbindkeys.il

or

../../lebindkeys

Each tool can have different shortcuts and can be defined by the user

to ensure that this file initializing when you starting IC

CIW--> options --> Bindkey...
You can choose the schematic, then you can use show ......, then you can see the hot key.

ee484, you can assign your own keys simply by editing schbindkeys.il for the schematic editor or the lebindkeys.il for the layout editor,when u open any of them u will find different functions and their corresponding keys so u can edit them as u want

You can add skill code in the .cdsinit file (or in other file called by .cdsinit) to assign your own hot keys. But if you are not very familiar with skill, you may add hotkeys by gui interface:

1. Run a menu command. You will see some text in the status line. The text afer R: is for Right-click repeatition command. This is the skill code for the menu command you just selected. If the command is not displayed completely, you can open the CDS.log file to see the complete command line. Write down the command line.

2. Select menu from CIW: Options / Bindkeys.... Then select a tool, enter the bindkey like this: <Key>F2, or Shift<Key>F2, or Ctrl<Key>F2. Enter the command line you wrote down the the command input box. Then "apply".

3. Click "Show bindkeys" (may be other things, I forget the exect name) in the Set Bindkey form. You will see all bindkey definition for the tool you selected. Then copy the code to the .cdsinit file. Now your bindkey definition will be auto loaded.

If you are familiar with Skill, functions not defined in menus can be assigned to a Hot key.
