way lamp in the hose dont work with pulses

i learn that the ac current works as pulses for example : from +300 to -300
in the middle ther is 0
so way the lamp in the house work stable and not tornd on and of , on off on off .........
 

Its because the lamps filaments are actually HEATED, so it takes them a finite time to cool down, by which time the nect pulse has come along and heated them up again. If you have an old fashioned flourescent (strip)light, these actually flicker off 50 times a second and if you use a high speed drill under their light , its chuck will appear stationary (or going round slowly).
