the best verilog simulator

Hi,
I used Modelsim in large projects and It's good but I tested Modelsim and NC-Verilog for small project. I think NC-Verilog is faster.

best modelsim

I select modelsim, because it having better debugging feature compare to the reset, that why they gain largest market share..

compare vcs modelsim

I select NC-Verilog ...
Modelsim is not stable
VCS , we just use it in nanosim for mix mode simulation.....

how to profile vcs simulator

I always used modelsim and found it be advantageous to others and user friendly.

Ofcourse,subjectivity and comfortability of the user matters..

debugging with vcs verilog

I use Modelsim because it can run in all Windows systems.
I think most of the design spends in the RTL level. Thus
easy of debug and use will be consideration first for me.

nc-verilog for windows

According to experience, you should use at least two tools at the same time

vcs run do modelsim

I prefer Modelsim for its eay use.

modelsim nanosim

Wondering what users thoughts are on this tool

debussy modelsim

Modelsim is most easiest to use and the best wrt the features, as per what I have used

modelsim se and ncverilog

Modelsim is well, and cheap :roll:

Hi all,

I open this topic for us to discuss the 3 most popular HDL simulator in the market. I hope everyone here could share your opinion.

I personally prefer VCS, because it is very efficient and lot of features there. But the cost is expensive compare to others.

Probably there are some other verification tools which are powerful but not popular, so please comment them also .

regards,

always@smart.

vcs modelsim

NC Sim is not supporting all Verilog 2001 features like generate for statrement , even VCS is also not supporting complete 01 featrures, suppose i have one code in verilog

initial count = x;
always@(posedge clk) begin
count = count + 1;
$display("Count = %d",count);
end
Nc Sim displays x first time(during first posedge) and VCS displays 1.

nc verilog simulation tool

i have only use the modelsim so i dont know other tool's performance!

verilog real vcs vs nc verilog

I select Nc. But I think Moldelsim is very efficient for some small designs.

verilog vcs

8)
nc_verilog and vcs is better than modelsim!

best verilog simulator

it seems that nc is more popular than vcs. I had thought that synopsys was more powerful at the frontend, including simulation, synthesis. Now, it seems not the fact.

nc-verilog on workstation and modelsim on PC.

Hi oasis,

You have the same thought as mine. Now, it seems that Nc is more powerful, popular and preferable at the front-end.

Modelsim 5.8 has just released. Anyone has tried it? How's the perfomance and new features compare to others?

NCV is my choice.

I select NC-verilog for big designs and modelsim for small designs.
