Simple project that should reborn old C-230B. all inside elements I have exchange. Bulbs are 230V/40W with E14 thread. Driver is discolitez **broken link removed** that is compatible with any other device works with LPT (via DLOP plug). Device work with 4 channels, first three are disco lamps, forth is additional 230V output at rear part of casing. You can plug an extra light, stroboscope or tree there.
As a USB-LPT converter I used FT245RL bone that works perfect. Executive elements are: triacs BT136 that are controlled by optiotracs MOC3041. that last ones consist function of zero detection, so you don’t have to worry about house fuses. Power for primary part is given by USB. At the board there is diode that indicates power, fuse at 230V branch and 4 additional driver outputs as a pins ( signals 0V-5V) so device can be upgraded by another executive elements. Board have dimensions: 75x80mm so can be use at any device. Power is taken from usb so there is no need to use transformer. Bulbs power can be from wide range, up to 3x100W, but you need to remember that with that power, triacs may need additional cooling system – small radiators. ARK slot allow easy assembly and disassembly of cables. Rest depends of user, software and configurations.
After install drivers https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm, you will see new device “usb serial port”. To work with discolitez you will need special plug - DLOP. You can download from here: **broken link removed** You need to paste this file to DLOP catalogue.
