ubuntu wpa problem

Dear all,

I have a Dell vostro 1510 laptop, with windows vista ultimate installed on it. I installed ubuntu 8.04 under my windows and recently upgraded it to 8.10 using ubuntu's update manager. but since then, I my laptop cannot connect to any network with WAP security. even If I enter the passcode correctly. but it can connect to unsecured networks or non-wireless networks using ethernet port.
What seems to be the issue? It's just getting on my nerve!!!
regards,

ubuntu problem with wpa

I have a Vostro 1400 laptop and have had a similar problem since upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10, although I can get a connection on a WPA secured network by disabling and re-enabling the wireless card. I think it has something to with the upgrade to NetworkManager 0.7. Unfortunately, I don't have any more insight than that. Have you tried posting this question at ubuntuforums.org?

ubuntu 8.10 wpa

Yeah I have, I also have read other people having the same issue but none seem to have come up with a solution, that's why I tried edaboard. I finally reinstalled ubuntu 8.04.1 it's not much different than 8.10 and it works ok.
