Can anyone suggest me a good reference for " types of connectors available in sensors" and why connectors play such an important role when selecting a sensor" ?

Hey Thili,
Your infos are really too less! :-(
Short answer can be only: "good quality conns" :)
Sensors are usual high volume produced, relative cheap products.
The conns have to be inexpensive too_BUT they must be OK in all environmental conditions too.
Thes are not in harmony...
K.
