When I check the timing by doing time analysis just before filling I get no violations, After applying the filling ( Metal filling ) I get four hold violations.
Does anyone have an explanation about the effect of metal filling on timing?!
I tried to do timing optimization to solve it but I does not work.
I think Metal filling is just floating metals and it should not affect RC
and I use the following command "addMetalFill -layer { 1 2 3 4} -squareShape"
So I think I am not using the mentioned option, Is it enabeled by default ?
-timingAware could be on/off/sta, default is "on" which only take care of clock nets, less for signal nets, and don't care of power/ground nets.
"sta" mode take care of the critical net also, take more time, but better for a timing point of view.
