pcb voltage drop

Have somebody done the the voltage drop and thermal analysis in the copper trace of pCB ???

Would you provide some document and some good simulation software to solve above the problem or provide some opinion??

Thanks!!

calculate voltage drop in pcb

Try the softwares provided at the following link:
https://www.ultracad.com/

PCBTemp.exe
Which looks at the relationship between trace current, geometry, and temperature rise of PCB traces.
**broken link removed**

Wiregage.exe
Which converts between trace geometry (width and thickness) and equivalent AWG wire gauge. It also calculated trace resistance at a given length and temperature, and voltage drop across the trace for a given current.

You can also download the softwares here:

Hope the softwares will be helpful. Cheer!

pcb+voltage +drop +copper

I mainly deal with about irregular copper trace(mostly complex) not the regular trace.
The ultracad maybe solve the regular trace problem .

copper trace resistance

What CAD tools do you are using? Some has this capability build-in!

wiregage.exe

Which CAD tools have this capability built in?
The Sigrity tools have this capability, but USD 60,000.00 is a bit much to pay for this capability.
Cadence Allegro doesn't have this capability as far as I know.
