Hi all,

I'm using spectre and golden gate to simulate a design. And found that the golden gate does run fast than spectre in many items, eg compression point (CR in golden gate and PSS in spectre). So, could anyone tell me some difference between the two simulators?
Thanks in advance.

Andy

if I am correct spectre is for conventional analog simulations where as golden gate is for RF IC simulations

Because Goldengate uses HB technique, PSS uses Periodic Steady State technique.
Sometimes PSS is better (heavyly nonlinear circuits,Oscillators), sometimes HB( Mixers,Dividers)..
